Ganjam: A newborn baby was found dead in a roadside garbage bin at Damodarpur village under Purusottampur police limits, on Thursday.
The incident came to light when some villagers spotted the body and informed the police.
Upon being informed, police recovered the body and initiated an investigation. However, the identity of the person who abandoned the baby and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown.
The police are currently investigating the matter and trying to identify the parents of the newborn.
Further investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the newborn.
