Bhubaneswar: A newborn boy was rescued from the dustbin at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack. His parents and stepmother have been interrogated by police.
Reportedly, the second wife of Manas Jena of Thakurmunda in Mayurbhanj district had gave birth to a baby boy at SCB’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department on Wednesday morning.
Manas’ first wife had visited the hospital. On Wednesday night, Manas’ second wife was sleeping in a hospital bed with her son. However, when she woke up, she did not find the child with her.
She informed Manas about this. Manas and his two wives searched for the child but could not find it. A child was later found lying near the dustbin downstairs.
Manas reached there and identified the child as his. The child was rescued and admitted to the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU).
After the hospital filed a complaint in this regard, Police took Manas along with his two wives to the police station and interrogated them. The police have informed that the real truth of the incident will be revealed after inspecting the CCTV footage.
