Bhubaneswar: A newborn baby allegedly declared dead by doctors at a government medical facility in Mayurbhanj district was found alive during the funeral ceremony in Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
However, the same child died while undergoing treatment at the same hospital on Thursday morning.
Reportedly, the newborn baby of Raimani and Sunia Munda of Khadikapada village in Keonjhar district had been declared dead by the doctors of Karanjia medical in Mayurbhanj district yesterday.
Subsequently, the couple returned to their village with the supposed corpse and arranged for its funeral. However, when they were about to bury the baby, the newborn was found to be breathing and crying.
Following it, the family members and villagers rushed to the hospital again. They shouted slogans against the hospital authorities and demanded proper treatment of the baby whose health condition was critical.
