Bhubaneswar: A newborn was found dead on the premises of Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital on Thursday morning.
Attendants spotted the newborn’s body near the ticket counter of the hospital and informed police.
It is suspected that miscreants might have dumped the newborn’s body late Wednesday night.
Upon being informed, police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Police, meanwhile, began an investigation to ascertain the whereabouts of the miscreants who abandoned the body inside the hospital and the reason behind dumping the newborn’s body on hospital premises.
Hospital authorities also began an investigation.
