**Balasore:** A new-born baby girl wrapped in a cloth has been rescued from a drain near old cinema hall area in Soro on Monday night. The baby was admitted to Soro Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to Balasore District headquarters Hospital (DHH).
According to reports, one Sheikh Liyakat heard the crying baby when he was passing by and stopped to look inside the drain. He immediated rushed the new born to the CHC.
Sheikh Liyakat said, “I was passing by the canal when I hear the crying baby, I stopped and tried to see what it is with the help of a torch. As soon as I saw the abandoned baby, I rushed her to the CHC here”.
The condition of the baby is stated to be stable now. Meanwhile, the local police have initiated a probe into the matter.
