Newborn Girl Found Abandoned In Mayurbhanj Forest

Bhubaneswar: A newborn girl was rescued from a forest near Gaugadhia panchayat of Thakurmunda block in Mayurbhanj district. The infant is about one month old.

Some local women heard the baby crying while they were plucking leaves. They went to the place and found the baby wrapped in a cloth.

The women immediately informed the local sarpanch who reached the spot along with local people and ASHA.

The Sarpanch and ASHA rescued the infant and took her to Thakurmunda Health Centre for primary treatment.

The child was sick as she was hungry for several hours, doctor said.

The infant will be handed over to Childline.
