Newborn Girl Found Dead In Hospital Toilet

Bhubaneswar: A newborn baby girl was found dead in a toilet at Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital on Monday.

According to sources, sanitation workers spotted the body in the toilet of the Medicine Ward while cleaning the hospital premises and informed the hospital authorities in this regard.

Upon being informed by hospital authorities, Town Police reached the hospital and recovered the body before sending it for post-mortem.

Police, meanwhile, began an investigation to establish the newborn’s identity and how the baby girl reached the toilet.

It is suspected that somebody might have dumped the baby girl and fled.

Police have registered an unnatural death case in this connection and started an investigation based on CCTV footage.
