Rayagada: In a bizarre incident, locals in Kalyansinghpur block recovered a newborn girl from a bush in Jharia Sahi village under Shikarpai Sadar Panchayat in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Thursday morning.
According to reports, hearing the cries of an infant, a local villager searched the bush beside the road and discovered a newborn girl wrapped in old clothes lying there. He immediately informed others and the police about the incident.
On being informed, police reached the spot and admitted the infant to a nearby hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.
The police have launched an investigation to find the infant’s relatives as no one has come forward to own her so far.
