Balasore: The body of a newly married woman was recovered from the house of her in-laws in Mainkusadali village under Upada police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Namita Pare, daughter of Akshay Pare of Sorispal village under the same police limits.
According to reports, Namita had got married to Mithun Pare, son of Sanghat Harihar Pare, some four months ago and was allegedly harassed by her in-laws for dowry. As per a complaint lodged by Namita’s family at the Upada police station, after the marriage, Namita was regularly subjected to physical and mental abuse. The kin of the deceased also claimed that she was killed by her in-laws for dowry.
On being informed about the incident, the Upada police reached the spot, recovered the body, and started an investigation into the matter.
