Rayagada: A newlywed couple was found hanging dead from a tree at Paikakupakhal village under Andirakanch police station in Rayagada district.
Police have recovered the bodies of Abhi Jhodia and his wife, Amita Jhodia and initiated an investigation into the cause of death.
The couple had reportedly married about a month and a half ago after their families had given consent for the love marriage. However, the reason behind their deaths is yet to be ascertained.
According to sources, the couple had been experiencing marital discord, leading the police to suspect that they might have taken their own lives.
Meanwhile, both families have informed the police in writing that no one is responsible for their deaths. However, given the history of marital discord between the couple, the police suspect that they might have taken their own lives.
