Balasore: A newly married 23-year-old woman was found hanging from the fan of her room. The sad incident occurred in Sabira village under Soro police limits in Balasore district.
The deceased, Sabita, was married to Laxmidhar Majhi a few months back.
In his statement, Laxmidhar said that he was out to play cards and finding the house empty, Sabita hanged herself from the fan in her room using her own saree.
In contrary, Sabita’s parents have alleged that Laxmidhar had been demanding for a motorcycle among other demands for dowry. Since they were not able to fulfil his demands, their daughter was killed.
Upon intimation, Soro police arrived on the scene and sent the body for autopsy. A probe has been initiated.
