**Bhubaneswar**: Expressing serious concern over the persons who were injured in SUM Hospital fire mishap, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday sought detailed report about the compensation given to them.
NHRC Chairperson Justice H.L. Dattu during a three-day camp court of the commission here, asked the State Government to submit the report.
“The NHRC, which on suo motu had filed a case after the incident, expressed concern and sought report about the condition of injured persons on the fateful day. 30 people died and 108 were injured due to the fire but the State Government had only announced compensation to the deceased and free treatment for the injured. The commission in its report has sought the exact condition of the injured to order any further compensation they need,” said NHRC lawyer.
Worth mentioning, 22 patients were killed and more than hundreds injured in the fire at the private hospital on October 17 last year.
