Malkangiri: A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested hardcore Maoist Ranju Khila alias Chanti from the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district.
Chanti was involved in the attack on BSF jawans in July 2012 in which four jawans were martyred. Later he was arrested by the police in 2013. After being released on bail in 2018 Chanti did not appear before the court.
Subsequently NIA registered a case against Chanti and was searching for him.
According to reports, a team of the NIA with the help of the State police arrested Chanti from the Swabhiman Anchal.
Chanti had a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh on his head. Recently, NIA had put up ‘most wanted’ posters of Chanti and three others with cash prizes on their heads.
