Bhubaneswar: There has been a sharp decline in the minimum temperature across Odisha as several parts of Odisha experienced early morning chill on Sunday. G. Udayagiri and Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13°C.
The minimum temperature dropped to below 20°C in Bhubaneswar this season while Cuttack was a little warmer at 20.2°C on the first day of Odia Kartik month.
Many places across the state experienced dense fog for the second day on Sunday dropping visibility on the roads. Moderate to dense fog has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Koraput, and Bhadrak. Otherwise, dry weather prevailed over the remaining districts of Odisha.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while the maximum temperature dropped 2°C -3°C in several places in interior and north Odisha, no change was observed in other parts of Odisha.
The IMD has ruled out the possibility of any change in the weather conditions during the next few days but predicted the likelihood of light rainfall in some places of the start from November 1.
