Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast that the night temperature in Odisha is likely to fall by 2°C-3°C in the next 2 days and then rise gradually by 2°C – 3°C.
On the other hand, the mercury has been rising across Odisha with G Udayagiri recording the lowest minimum temperature of 7.6°C in the last 24 hours against 7°C on Saturday and 6.8°C on Friday.
In its monthly outlook for February, the MeT office indicated that the entire state will experience above-normal daytime temperatures this month. The probability of coastal districts being more affected is high. The day temperature is likely to hover around 35°C during the next five days. The capital city’s mean daily maximum temperature for the month of February is 32.5°C.
This rise in temperature is attributed to weak La Nina conditions and no significant rainfall activity. Overall, dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
