Bhubaneswar: Winter chill is gradually setting in across Odisha with the minimum temperatures (night temperatures) dropping appreciably across the state, the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said.
During the next two days, the night temperature in several places of the state is expected to drop by 2°C to 3°C from Thursday under the influence of dry and cold winds blowing from the north and northwest regions. According to the IMD, the weather is likely to be colder in Koraput, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Rayagada districts in interior Odisha.
Koraput, Kandhamal, and Sundargarh in Odisha are already experiencing colder nights.
While there is no possibility of rain in the state till November 14, the night temperature has dropped by 1°C – 2°C in many places and it is likely to drop further by 2°C to 3°C in the next two days. The IMD predicted that the minimum temperature may drop further after November 14.
Dense fog is also seen in some places. Several areas of the capital city Bhubaneswar were seen covered with thick dense early on Thursday morning.
