Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a significant drop in minimum temperature (night temperature) across Odisha during the next few days. According to the weather office, the night temperature is very likely to fall by 3-5°C across Odisha.
Several parts of the state are witnessing a sudden change of weather after Cyclone Miachaung. Moreover, fog occurred in several places in the state on Friday reducing visibility.
Mayurbhanj district in Odisha is already experiencing a cold wave. Karanjia sub-district of Mayurbhanj district is experiencing cloudy weather with light rain at various places.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 29.5°C was recorded at Nayagarh, and the lowest minimum temperature of 15°C was recorded at Sundargarh, the IMD said. The mercury will fall further from Friday in coastal as well as interior Odisha. Meanwhile, the active low pressure has weakened over south Chhattisgarh and its adjoining areas. As a result, several areas across Odisha continue to experience cold.
The weather office has further predicted that a few places in Odisha are likely to experience light to moderated rain on Friday.
