Bhubaneswar: Minimum (night) temperatures across Odisha are expected to fall by 3–4°C over the next three to four days, the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said in its midday bulletin on Friday. However, dry weather conditions are likely to prevail across all districts for the next seven days, with no warnings issued.
According to the IMD, northwesterly to northerly winds are currently prevailing over the state. Moderate fog was observed at isolated places in Sundergarh, while shallow fog occurred in parts of Kalahandi. No rainfall was recorded in any district.
Minimum temperatures remained appreciably above normal by 3–4°C at a few places in interior Odisha and normal elsewhere. The day’s highest maximum temperature was 34.0°C at Paralakhemundi, while Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 14.0°C.
The seven-day outlook suggests continued dry conditions through November 14, followed by stable weather with no large changes expected in the three-day period from November 14 to 17.
For Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas, the forecast indicates morning fog or mist, followed by mainly clear skies. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 32°C, and nighttime lows around 19°C. Observations at 0830 hrs IST showed a maximum of 32.5°C and minimum of 19.8°C, with zero rainfall.
The IMD also stated that farmers can expect favourable dry conditions in the next 24 hours with no specific advisories, and fishermen along the Odisha coast have no warnings for the next five days.
