Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha experienced a slight decline in minimum temperature (nighttime temperature) during the last 24 hours, dense fog clouded several places in the state reducing visibility to 50 meters.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest day on Saturday recording a minimum temperature of 7.4°C. Other places where the minimum temperature was below 12°C during the last 24 hours include Daringbadi and Phulbani recording 8.5°C and 9.5°C respectively.
Koraput recorded a minimum temperature of 8°C, followed by Semiliguda (9.9°C), Nabarangpur (11.5°C), Kirei (11.77°C), and Keonjhar, Angul, and Bhawanipatna all recording 12°C.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.4°C and 15.4°C respectively.
Dense fog occurred in Rourkela and Phulbani reducing visibility to 50 metres on Sunday morning. Shallow to moderate fog was seen in Paradip, Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar.
The weather office forecast that several places in Odisha will experience dense fog during the next three days. Overall, the weather is expected to remain dry across Odisha, it added.
