Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths apprehended Amin of Nimapara NAC, on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 17,000 from an applicant. The applicant had approached the vigilance authorities after Bijay Kumar Grahacharya, demanded Rs 30,000 to process his building plan approval file.
Grahacharya had allegedly received Rs 3,000 and Rs 10,000 in two earlier installments. The vigilance team caught him accepting the final installment of Rs 17,000, which was subsequently recovered and seized.
A case (Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case U/s 7 P.C. Amendment Act) has been registered against Grahacharya, and an investigation is underway. Searches are being conducted at two locations linked to him as part of the probe.
