Angul: In a shocking incident, nine Aghori babas, allegedly from Madhya Pradesh, were detained by Bhaliabeda villagers of Angul district on suspicion of attempting to kidnap a schoolboy.

According to reports, the incident occurred when two students from the Bhaliabeda Government Upper Primary School had stepped out to buy pens. One of the students was reportedly being pulled into a vehicle by the babas when the other student raised an alarm. Listening to students’ screams, villagers immediately stopped the two vehicles carrying the babas and handed over the nine persons to the Rengali police.
