Nine Months Of Wait Over, Ward-Wise Darshan At Puri Srimandir Begins

Puri: After a period of over nine months, the local residents will be able to avail darshan of the deities at Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri as ward-wise darshan commences from today.

The temple, which had reopened on December 23 for limited devotees, was today opened for the townspeople in a phased manner starting from 7:30 am.

As per the ward-wise schedule, people of ward number 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 12 have been allowed to enter the temple in three shifts starting from morning 7.30 AM to 9 PM with a gap of 30 minutes between each shift.

A press release issued by the Puri district police yesterday stated that as many as 55 sections of the police force along with 40 Home Guards and 40 constables will be deployed for smooth darshan at the temple.
