Bhubaneswar: The CEO of NITI Aayog B. V. R. Subrahmanyam held detailed discussions today with secretaries of various departments of the state government at Kharavel Bhawan in Bhubaneswar focusing on the implementation of targets outlined in the newly unveiled development roadmap titled “Viksit Bharat for Viksit Odisha – Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047.”
The vision document was formally launched on June 20, in the august presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, members of the State Cabinet, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and other senior leaders. It outlines an ambitious, long-term strategy aimed at transforming Odisha into a developed state aligned with the national vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Today’s meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, as well as other Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and senior officials across departments.
The CEO lauded the collaborative efforts of all departments in drafting the Vision document, which he described as a comprehensive and meticulously prepared plan. Notably, the document was completed in just 11 months, following multiple consultations and inputs from various stakeholders, including civil society and the public.
Highlighting the importance of effective execution, Mr. Subrahmanyam emphasized the need for a clear understanding of the proposals and their timely implementation. He praised the State Government’s “36-for-36” development targets and proposed the creation of an “Odisha Vision Cell” to track monthly progress and drive implementation.
He further suggested the formation of “Odisha Vision Units” at the district level and called for high-level review committees under the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to oversee and accelerate the plan’s execution.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja commended the technical and strategic support extended by NITI Aayog, noting that the Vision document reflects high-quality planning and commitment. He expressed optimism that through professional expertise and coordinated efforts, the ambitious targets of the Vision could be achieved, leading to tangible improvements in development indicators.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, in her opening remarks, thanked NITI Aayog for its guidance and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of all involved officers. She stressed that the Vision document is the result of seamless coordination from political leadership to administrative machinery.
During the session, department secretaries held focused discussions with the NITI Aayog CEO on their respective plans to meet the goals set out in Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047.
