No Assurance Given To Hike Health Insurance Cover For Journalists To Rs 5 Lakh: Min

Bhubaneswar: The government has not given any assurance to increase the health insurance cover for journalists under the Gopabandhu Health Insurance Scheme from the existing Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh informed Information and  Public Relations Minister Pradip Kumar Amat in the Odisha Assembly today.

Replying to a question by BJD Member Prafulla Samal, Amat said under the aforementioned the journalist’s wife and three children (up to 25 years of age) are included.

He clarified that as of now there is no provision for the inclusion of the journalist’s father and mother under the scheme.
