Bhubaneswar: After returning from Delhi, Odisha BJP Chief Manmohan Samal denied any deliberations on cabinet expansion and appointments to various boards and corporations in the state.
Samal clarified that there would be no changes for now and that the party would inform about any future decisions in due course.
Addressing the media at the Biju Patnaik airport, Samal said, “Discussions were held with MPs and central leaders. These are normal processes, and decisions regarding cabinet expansion will be taken at the right time. There would be no changes for now and that the party would inform about any future discussions or decisions pertaining to cabinet expansion and appointments of board and corporation chairpersons.”
The clarification comes amid growing speculation and anticipation within the party ranks and the state political circles.
Notably, the BJP state president’s visit to Delhi had sparked speculation about potential changes in the state government and party organization. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had also visited Delhi recently, fuelling rumours about cabinet expansion and appointments of board and corporation chairpersons.
