**Puri**: Even after a day, the girl rescued by the locals here is not able to speak clearly and not able to tell her complete identity though doctors treating her said she is stable.
According to police, the abandoned girl on Friday said her name is Madhabi and she is from West Bengal.
The locals who rescued the girl and a doctor attending her at the headquarters hospital here had earlier said that the hapless girl was saying she was from Jaleswar area in Balasore district.
“The girl who was rescued yesterday by the locals is recuperating at the hospital and saying she is from West Midnapore of West Bengal. She is not able to tell the exact address of hers which made our job difficult in finding her native place,” said Dayanidhi Nayak, IIC, Puri Town Police Station.
“We, on our own, are trying to contact the West Bengal police and GRP whether any girl missing case was registered,” the IIC added.
Worth mentioning, on Thursday morning, some locals here had rescued a girl, who was found lying on a road here in a critical condition and was then admitted to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
