Bhubaneswar: ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ Chairperson Susmita Bagchi on Friday convened a meeting with Headmasters of different High Schools across the State during which she advised the latter to instill self-confidence within students.
Bagchi said the confidence of children and their wards towards Government schools is rising and that there is no dearth of talent in children studying in Odia medium schools. “We need to boost their confidence,” she said and advised the school authorities to develop better communication skills and spoken English of the students.”
The Chairperson of Mo School Abhiyan was interacting with the Headmasters of High Schools to take stock of the progress of the ‘Students Aspiration Programme’ under the aegis of 5-T High School Transformation prorgamme in Odisha.
“There must be holistic development of our students, which includes co-curricular activities apart from academics,” she said, adding that if needed, the school faculty members can take help from their alumni.
Along with vocational training, students should be highly skilled on subjects like science, mathematics, computers and 21st-century skills. Students of Std IX and X should have career counselling courses, said Bagchi.
She advised the attendees to start the ‘student aspiration’ programme in all ‘transformed’ High Schools in Odisha. Under the programme, Mo School has tied up with national and global organisations to start various initiatives such as – Code Club, Teachers’ Training, Leadership Training, etc.
