Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik reiterated his party’s promise to provide free power.
Addressing a massive election rally at Rourkela the Chief Minister reminded the public that if BJD is voted to power, the people will not get electricity bills from July, this year.
“There will be no electricity bills from July. BJD government will provide free electricity. Apana mane khushi ta? (Are you happy about it?). This will be Naveen Patnaik’s electricity guarantee,” the BJD president said, seeking wholehearted support from the people for the party candidates.
Patnaik sought feedback on Mamata, KALIA, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), Mission Shakti, 5T School Transformation, Nua O scholarship, and other welfare programmes as well as ‘sankha chinha’ (conch symbol of BJD). The gathering stood up from their seats and responded in the affirmative.
Finally, Patnaik asked, “Naveen Patnaik bhala ki?’ (Is Naveen Patnaik good?) which elicited a similar response from the crowd in the affirmative.
The BJD president accused the opposition of telling lies and spreading information.
He further accused the opposition of shedding crocodile tears. He appealed to the people not to believe the opposition.
