Jharsuguda Airport - Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport

Bhubaneswar: The District Magistrate and Collector of Jharsuguda, Chavan Kunal Motiram, has declared the Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport and its surrounding airspace a ‘No-Flying Zone’ ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit.

The restrictions will remain in effect from the afternoon of November 19 until the President’s departure on November 20.

The directive follows a request from Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, highlighting the need for stringent aerial security measures.

The order bars all unauthorised aerial activity, including drones, paragliders, and other flying objects, to ensure the safety of the VVIP.

President Murmu is scheduled to arrive at VSS Airport at 10:05 am from Dalam Airport, Delhi IAF Area. She will then proceed to Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, before returning to Jharsuguda and finally departing for Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

The District Magistrate has urged citizens and aviation operators to strictly adhere to the restrictions, warning that any violation of the ‘No-Flying Zone’ will invite legal action under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.
