Bhubaneswar: Amid concerns of fuel scarcity in Odisha due to the Quit Steering Wheel agitation, called by the Odisha Driver Mahasangh, Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has assured that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the state.
The minister stated that the situation has improved, with oil tankers resuming arrivals.
The minister also warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in the black marketing of fuel.
Patra said, “We currently have no shortage of petrol and diesel, and the situation is improving. The state government is actively working to fulfil the demands of the drivers, ensuring a smooth resolution to the situation. Oil tankers are arriving, with 150 reaching Bhubaneswar and 76 reaching Cuttack. The government has sufficient fuel stock, and it will ensure supplies to all cities.”
It is pertinent to mention that the drivers’ strike has entered its third day, severely disrupting the supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG across the state. The prolonged strike has led to fuel shortages.
