Bhubaneswar: Renowned singer and music composer Abhijit Majumdar continues to battle for his life in a coma, with no significant improvement in his health condition. Despite the best efforts of the medical team at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), his neurological condition remains unchanged.
According to the hospital’s latest health bulletin, Abhijit is currently on spontaneous mode ventilator support, and his vitals are stable. However, his brain activity has not shown any notable progress, and he remains in a coma.
The medical team had conducted an MRI brain scan on October 23 to assess his condition, but the report did not show any significant improvement. The doctors are continuing to provide him with supportive care and are working to wean him off the ventilator.
It is pertinent to mention that Abhijit was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack on August 27 after experiencing health issues following a Ganesh Puja event. Due to his deteriorating condition, he was shifted to another private hospital’s ICU and later referred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4.
At AIIMS, Abhijit was diagnosed with hypertension, hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease and neurological complications.
