Jeypore: Morning classes in schools across Koraput will be suspended every Saturday, starting today, due to the severe cold conditions prevailing in the district.
The District Education Officer (DEO) has instructed Block Education Officers (BEOs) and headmasters of all schools to conduct day classes instead on Saturdays until January 15, 2025.
According to the DEO’s directive, “In view of the ongoing winter season, day classes will replace morning classes in all schools on Saturdays until February 15, 2025, with timings remaining unchanged as per the day session schedule.”
The DEO has also directed BEOs to inform headmasters of all elementary schools under their jurisdiction accordingly.
Koraput district has been experiencing chilly weather in both hilly and plain areas for several days, with temperatures hovering around 15 degrees Celsius. As a result, people are preferring to stay indoors during morning hours.
