Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to everyone on the occasion of the English New Year 2026. As January 1 falls on a working day, the Chief Minister’s office and all state government offices will function as normal.
However, the CMO has requested citizens not to visit in person to extend greetings. “No one should come personally to extend greetings and wishes to the Chief Minister or the officers of the Chief Minister’s office,” the statement read.
The government has advised against celebrating the New Year in government offices, prohibiting events, meetings, and parties. “All heads of offices and institutions have been instructed to strictly observe this,” the statement added.
