Bhubaneswar: There is no outbreak of bird flu in the State, informed Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today.
Mahapatra’s statement came after a review of possible bird flu scenario in the State amid the avian disease’s scare in the country, said an official press communiqué.
The Chief Secretary said that around 11,000 samples from different areas have been tested and no cases have been found to be positive.
Mahapatra directed to intensify surveillance activities.
He also directed to form Rapid Response Teams at State and district level for mitigating any possible outbreak.
While appealing to people not to be apprehensive, the Chief Secretary stated that the State administration stands ready to counter and control any possible outbreak.
