Bhubaneswar: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic in the State, there will be no parade during State level celebration of Independence Day here. Students will not take part in the parade.
However, a guard of honour will be presented. Only three contingents of OSAP, ODRAF, BSF, SS Battalion besides the Police Band will participate in the function, a circular issued by the Home Department said.
The contingents participating in the function will be tested for Covid and would be required to maintain adequate social distancing at the venue.
The officers deployed near the flag post will also be tested for Covid and wear masks and gloves.
Rehearsal for the celebration will be held on the 11th and 12th of August at 3 PM and on the 13th of August at 9 AM at Exhibition Ground, Unit-3 here.
