No Permission For Demonstrations During Assembly Session: Commissionerate Police

Bhubaneswar: The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police today clarified that it will not be giving permission for protest, demonstration or rally on Gandhi Marg while the Monsoon Session of the Assembly is underway.

The press note added that so far, no organisation has sought such permission, and if they do receive the same in future it will be considered based on the need and situation. It might be noted here that due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has put a blanket ban on any kind of congregations such as protests and demonstrations.

The Monsoon Session of 16th Odisha Assembly is set to begin from September 29. Ahead of the session, about 900 people which includes MLAs, media persons and officials are being tested for COVID-19.
