Bhubaneswar: As COVID-19 cases continue to spike in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has decided to not give permission for Ganesh Puja celebrations at the community level.
The official Twitter handle of the Commissionerate Police said there are restrictions on large religious congregations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. “So, no permission has been given to Puja Mandaps to celebrate Ganesh Puja at community level,” added the tweet.

They also cited the example of Mumbai which is known for its Ganapati festival where they are also refraining from large-scale celebrations this year. The tweet requested all to cooperate.
The police officials are one of the Covid Warriors who were seen in several instances going beyond duty during their service. Some officers have even gotten infected with the novel coronavirus and rejoined duty as soon as they recovered.
