**Bhubaneswar:** There has been no improvement in the heat wave conditions in Odisha as the scorching sun has made it difficult for common people to venture out during the daytime. Sonepur was the hottest place in the State today (April 28) where the maximum temperature was recorded 42.8 degree Celsius.
Other towns which recorded a maximum temperature of more than 40 degrees were Bolangir (40.6), Bhawanipatna (40.3), Sambalpur (40.2) and Malkangiri (40.2).
The average temperature of other important towns in the State are as follows: Hirakud (38.8), Talcher (38.8), Angul (38.7), Talcher (38.8), Sundargarh (38.5), Phulbani (38.5), Puri (33.3) and Balasore (33.4)
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 and 35.2 degrees respectively.
The regional MET Department has further stated that the sky will remain partly cloudy over the State. Rain or thundershower may occur at one or two places. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the next 24 hours are most likely to be around 38-25 degree Celsius.
Furthermore, strong and gusty surface winds with speed reaching 35-45 kmph are likely to prevail along and off Odisha Coast. Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
