Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has warned that it will stop supplying rice to beneficiaries who have not completed the Aadhaar-based Know Your Customer (KYC) process for ration cards, informed the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Tuesday.
According to Patra, 15.67 lakh beneficiaries in the state have not undergone the e-KYC process, despite repeated warnings.
Talking to media, Patra said, “The Union government has stopped the e-KYC process. In our state, 15.67 lakh beneficiaries have failed to complete the process. They will not receive rice from next month onwards.”
He further said, “However, if the central government extends the deadline, we will also consider it. Those who’ve been left out can submit a written request for our consideration.”
