Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Legislative Assembly that the government cannot provide district-wise data on the utilization of Rs. 17,440 crore supplementary budget funds, citing the existing financial tracking system.
Majhi explained that the budget process follows a standardized national framework, focusing on scheme-wise departmental spending rather than geographical tracking. The Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) doesn’t capture budget allocations and expenditure data at the district or constituency level.
The CM’s response came in reply to a query from MLA Sagar Charan Das, seeking district-wise data on supplementary funds released and spent in Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Balangir blocks as of February 2026.
