**Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: ** In a significant verdict on Friday, Supreme Court ruled that technical education cannot be provided through correspondence courses. The apex court ruled this while setting aside the previous order of Orissa High Court.
The chief court of our country has also directed the technical education institutions not to provide education like engineering courses through correspondence course mode.
The Supreme Court pronounced this judgement while affirming the previous ruling of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Notably, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had passed a same verdict two years ago stating that a degree in ‘computer science’ from a distance learning course could not be considered on par with one attained by attending regular classes.
