No Vaccination Drive During Weekend Shutdown: Bijay Panigrahi

Bhubaneswar: Vaccination centres will be closed during the weekend shutdown in Odisha, informed Dr. Bijay Panigrahi, Director of Family Welfare and State Nodal Immunisation Officer, on Tuesday.

While Odisha is facing an acute shortage of Covid vaccine, 1 lakh more doses of Covishield are arriving in the State today afternoon, said Panigrahi.

Yesterday, Special Relief Commissioner cum Additional Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena had informed that weekend shutdown on Saturday and Sunday will be imposed in all urban areas of the State.

All the 10 districts bordering Chhattisgarh already have a weekend shutdown. Now all the other remaining 20 districts will have weekend shutdown from April 23 (Friday) night onward, said Jena.
