No Zero Night Celebration On New Year’s Eve In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday issued an order prohibiting the celebration of zero night in the State Capital on the eve of New Year 2021.

Citing the State Government’s order prohibiting large social gatherings to contain the spread of COVID-19, the BMC issued the following clarifications/advices for the approaching New Year zero night celebration.

In a video message, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today said, “There have been lots of confusions and rumours over the ensuing zero night celebrations on the eve of New Year day. We have already clarified that it is not allowed in the existing Covid-19 guidelines of Odisha Government. We have also issued an order in this context for clarification that zero night celebrations in hotels, clubs or kalyan mandaps or any other big gathering is not allowed and prohibited under the jurisdiction of BMC.”

“We have also requested the people to keep in view the Covid appropriate behaviour and please do it at home with your family members, not outside. We’re hopeful that the denizens of Bhubaneswar will cooperate as have done earlier,” appealed the BMC Commissioner.

1. Zero night Celebration at Hotels/Clubs/Convention Halls/Kalyan Mandaps etc. is prohibited.
2. Large Gatherings for zero night celebration at any other place is also not allowed.
3. Everyone is advised and requested to celebrate New Year with their family/friends/relatives at their private houses/establishments with adherence of COVID appropriate behaviour.
