Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthy Felicitates 12 Odia Women Achievers

**Bhubaneswar:** Nobel Peace Prize winner and Child Rights Activist Kailash Satyarthy on Monday felicitated 12 women achievers with Aarya Awards in different categories for their exemplary achievements in their respective sectors.

Senior journalist Kasturi Ray, social worker Gargi Bhattacharya, senior video journalist Jyotshna Rani Dalai and Director of RMRC Dr Sanghamitra Pati were felicitated by Satyarthy on this occasion.
The list of awardees also included Puspanjali Rao, Namita Nayak Chopra, Puspanjali Rao, Baisali Mohanty , Manini Mishra, Sarita Routray, Rashmi Sahoo and Debajani Mohanty for their notable contributions in their respective fields.

Speaking on this philanthropic event, organised by Parichay Foundation here, Satyarthy pitched for security and empowerment of girls.

“Unfortunately, girls in India are not safe right from their mothers’ womb to their homes, schools and neighbourhoods. We need to break the silence and raise voice. I know that women in of this country are strong and energetic enough to make this world a better place. But ultimately the society will have to speak up against problems like exploitation of girls and eve teasing,” Satyarthy opined.
