Bhubaneswar: Filing of nomination papers for the four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly constituencies in Odisha where polling will be held on May 13 will end on Thursday. The nomination process for these seats began on April 18.
The four Lok Sabha seats where polling will be held on May 13 are Kalahandi, Berhampur, Koraput and Nabarangpur, while the 28 Assembly constituencies Nuapada, Khariar, Umerkote, Jharigam, Nabarangpur, Dabugam, Lanjigarh, Junagarh, Dharmgarh, Bhawanipatna, Narla, Chhatrapur, Gopalpur, Berhampur, Digapahandi, Chikiti, Mohana, Paralakhemundi, Gunupur, Bissam Cuttack, Rayagada, Laxmipur, Kotpad, Jeypore, Koraput, Pottangi, Malkangiri, and Chitrakonda.
As per the notification of the Election Commission of India (ECI) notification, the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on Friday and candidates can withdraw their nominations by Monday, April 29.
As of Wednesday, altogether 30 candidates had filed their nominations for the four Lok Sabha seats.
Polling for 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats in Odisha will be held in four phases on May 13, 20, 25 and June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
