Bhubaneswar: Normal life was hit in Kuchinda in Odisha’s Sambalpur district as shops and establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads on Thursday in response to a dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the Kriyanusthana Committee to press their demand for a district status for the region.

The people of Kuchina have been demanding district status for the region for a long. As the government is yet to respond to their single-point demand, people took to the streets today. The bandh call has received support from various quarters, including the business community and common people. All government and private-run schools remained closed due to the 12-hour strike.
