Bhubaneswar: Acclaimed international journalist from Rourkela, Kamal Kumar succumbed to cancer at a private hospital here on Friday. Kumar was 42.
The talented young journo, Kumar was battling a terminal ailment for over two and a half years. He had undergone surgery at a private hospital in Gurugram in 2020 and subsequently was under palliative care in Bhubaneswar.
Kumar braved the odds of the disease with the same grit he demonstrated throughout his illustrious career spanning two decades as a journalist, senior producer, and editor, among the many hats he donned.
Sky and beyond was the limit for Kumar who was a powerhouse of talent, however, fate had planned otherwise. It all came to an end in Kumar’s home state on Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm when he breathed his last.
Kumar will be cremated in his hometown, Rourkela on Sunday, family sources informed Ommcom News.
He died on Friday at 2.30 pm at Apollo hospital Bhubaneswar after battling cancer for over a year. He was just 42. Being cremated today in his hometown Rourkela.
Many eminent journalists across the country and abroad expressed deep grief over the passing away of Kumar.
