Bhawanipatna: A notorious anti-social, Hemant Sahu of Pandaka Mala village under Madanpur Rampur police limits was arrested today. Sahu has at least four criminal cases against his name in Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts.
“A firearm, live rounds of ammunition and crude bombs were seized from his possession. The person hurled bombs and fired at our team. However, after a sustained operation the anti-social was overpowered and arrested,” Superintendent of Police Dr Saravana Vivek said.
Sahu is a bootlegger and also deals with firearms, the police said. Kesinga SDPO, S Susree led the operation. “Strong action will be initiated against all those who are in possession of illegal arms,” said Vivek.
