Cuttack: The Commissionerate of Police have busted a burglary gang with the arrest of nine persons including the notorious Hemant Das, who is involved in at least 134 cases. The arrests were made in connection with a complaint filed by one Sushanta Kumar Sahoo of Choudwar whose house was burgled on January 24.
Choudwar police SI Niranjan Bhoi led the investigation and managed to nab the miscreants who allegedly committed the crime. As many as 9 gold necklaces, 9 gold chains, 40 gold rings, 4 silver anklets, a car, and other incriminating materials were seized from the possession of the accused.
The accused persons have multiple cases against them. They have committed several burglaries in Cuttack UPD, Jagatpur area, Cuttack Sadar area, Madhupatna and Bayalsih Mouza. They also committed such crimes in different districts of Odisha, the police stated.
