Notorious Criminal Budhia Injured In Police Encounter In Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: Kamalakanta Das alias Budhia, the notorious criminal, sustained severe injuries during the encounter on Tuesday morning.

Town police station inspector Prabhanshu Mishra informed about the encounter.

According to Mishra, Budhia has more than 14 cases against him, including robbery and shooting incidents. The police had received a tip-off about his presence near Charampa Malgodown. Budhia opened fire on the cops, prompting the latter to retaliate. His accomplice, however, managed to escape on a bike.

Police recovered firearms and other incriminating evidence from the scene. Budhia’s accomplices managed to escape.

Meanwhile, Budhia was initially rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
